The mythos of psychic phenomena has been an intriguing aspect of UFO lore for decades. The connection between practices like remote viewing and UFOs may not seem to make sense at first, but patterns emerge when you dive a little deeper into the relationship between human consciousness and the reported encounters with these anomalous craft.

Let's take remote viewing as an example. Using Wikipedia for the sake of simplicity, it is defined as "the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen subject, purportedly sensing with the mind." Additionally, "a remote viewer is expected to give information about an object, event, person or location that is hidden from physical view and separated at some distance."

Essentially, the individual practicing this method uses their psychic abilities to obtain information remotely through some means of clairvoyance. This area of study has been ridiculed by skeptics, but the US military has funded programs into these and other psi phenomena like telekinesis since at least the 1970s.

The association of these psi programs with the UFO issue may at first appear tenuous at best, but there are several crossovers between the two that may explain how they are related.

A great place to start would be to analyze the individuals involved. Many of the names appear over and over again in the literature and government documents related to each field.
