Hi Kalus, really enjoyed this 1st time around and listening to your words in your voice. Making some space time to drop back in to the podcasts but can't find the link to the audio/podcast version. I'm no longer in the US could be a regional issue?
Loved this. Have held a similar view on writing and language as the real gifts. Imagine humanity as a roguelike game, where every run/generation was typically more efficient than the last, but when you die most if not all of that progress is lost. Writing is like introducing a save feature for humanity to bank that progress and the resources gathered along the way. It literally changed the entire game of survival from oral historys and instinct into what we have now.
Bro thats Genesis 11. Tower of Babel.
It talks about a unified humanity and then something came down and confused the languages.
Yep. 🙂
I have a lot more coming on this idea. I really think there’s something to it.
Terrance McKenna also talked about language being a trap and needing to be changed.
“To carry language from two dimensions into three is the task of the poets and the rebels of the 20th century.” Terrance McKenna
